Read By The Author |
If you are going to do your audiobook alone, then plan to alternate between narrating and playback, and do it, at least every half hour. During the playback, you must have a copy of your book in front of you, and you have to read along while you listen. Mark any place where you hear a goof-up. After you have listened through the most recent narration, get back in the saddle, and re-do those bits that need a re-take. The purpose of doing this is to double-check your narration. It is to catch problems that you didn't catch while you were narrating. If you make a mistake during the original narrating, don't put off the re-take. Stop and do the retake right then and there. Don't fall into the habit of telling yourself that you will 'fix that later'. Fix it now. It is a lot easier to fix things right away, even if you feel like you are going about 5 miles an hour through your book. |
